When I face challenges, I choose to see myself as an architect. A builder doesn’t walk away from a rugged landscape; they design a structure that masters it. I’ve learned that if I shrink in the face of trouble, my world gets smaller. But if I expand my faith and my effort, I rise above the obstacle.
I lean on James 1:2-4, which teaches us to count it all joy when we meet trials, for the testing of our faith produces steadfastness. It is through these “limits” that we are made perfect. In The Obstacle Is the Way, Ryan Holiday notes, “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.” Don’t fear the mountain; use it as a pedestal to reach higher.
