Anchored in Our Heritage

I believe that a tree without roots cannot withstand a storm. In my life, I have found that honoring my culture isn’t about being stuck in the past; it is about ensuring a stable future. When we respect the traditions and values handed down to us, we find the strength to grow without losing our identity.

The Bible encourages this in Proverbs 22:28: “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” There is a collective wisdom in our heritage that protects us. As Maya Angelou beautifully wrote in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, “A people’s reach can exceed their grasp only if they have a firm footing in their past.” Honor your roots, and your growth will be unstoppable.
